The Kansas Softball Coaches Association released its All-State teams for all classes and Crawford-Neosho-Cherokee League schools Frontenac, Girard, Riverton and St. Mary's Colgan all earned selections.
Frontenac led all CNC schools with four nods in Class 3A: catcher Sam Bonner and outfielder Jennifer Long on the first team and pitcher Lindsey Gorham and infielder Nayna Fields second team. All four Raiders have one year of high school remaining in what have already been successful prep careers.
Colgan senior pitcher Morgan Gilmore was listed at the top of the Class 3A selections, among four pitchers selected first team. Gilmore propelled Colgan to the state tournament with performances like her three-run walk-off homer against Galena and her 19 strikeouts against Humboldt in the regional final.
Riverton junior Shelby Mitchell earned a first-team nod as the utility player. Mitchell batted .527 with 17 RBI and went 7-7 in the circle with a 2.98 ERA, helping the Rams advance to the Class 3A regional semifinals.
Girard outfielders Hope McLeod and Kasey Ruark both made first team in Class 4A.
Labette County seniors Kaysha Julich, Shelbie Foister and Kelsie Goins all earned representation — Julich first team catcher, Foister first team infielder and Goins second team infielder.
However, senior pitcher Allie Reynolds did not earn one of the four spots in Class 4A designated for pitchers and Reynolds finished her season 24-2 with a 0.60 ERA and 284 strikeouts, as well as a .494 batting average with 30 RBI at the plate.
Fort Scott catcher MacKenzie Jackman gave the Southeast Kansas League both spots on the Class 4A first team.
Chetopa pitcher Chelsea LaPee and Uniontown infielder Hope Jurgensen both made second team in Class 2-1A.
LaPee went 15-5 with 256 strikeouts in 124 innings and hit .344 with three home runs, 10 doubles, one triple and 16 RBI for the Hornets. Jurgensen batted .400 with four doubles, two triples and 20 RBI for the Eagles.
