The Girard High School baseball team rapped out 23 hits over 10 innings to sweep Northeast, 14-2 and 14-0, Monday at Arma City Park.
Jeremy Grosstephen and Taylor Graham each went 5 for 7 with a home run apiece, and Logan Cherry was 5 for 6 with a home run.
The Trojans limited Northeast (2-8, 0-6 CNC) to just four hits in the twin bill — just one in the second game.
“Their pitcher did a heck of a job in the second game,” Northeast head coach Jason Clemensen said.
The Viking defense held with just three errors over the two games, but it was Girard’s hitting that sealed the sweep.
“They hit the ball hard,” Clemensen said. “We didn’t kick the ball around, and they just really hit the ball hard.”
Northeast will play host to Riverton at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Arma City Park.
