Area preps earn All-State

Class 2-1A baseball champ St. Mary’s-Colgan and Class 3A runner-up Galena each placed three players on the Kansas Baseball Coaches Association All-State first team.
The Panthers, who won their sixth straight Class 2-1A state title had Nate Arnold (3B), Stu Jeck (2B) and Jesse Watt (P) named to the first team.
Watt was also named the Class 2-1A pitcher of the year.
Galena’s Dakota Walker (P), Troy Albright (1B) and Grant Thompson (OF) were placed on the Class 3A All-State first team.
In addition to the three on the first team, Galena’s second baseman Colton Leet was named to the second team.
Girard senior Tanner Poppe was named to the Class 4A All-State first team.
