Bogina second in 3A meet

Northeast High’s Austin Bogina finished second at the KSHSAA Class 3A meet in Wamego on Saturday.
The Vikings junior finished in 17 minutes, 18 seconds. He was 16 seconds behind eventual winner Collin Trickle, a sophomore from Minneapolis who finished in 17:02. Talon Thompson from Southeast finished 51st in 19:05.
On the girls side in 3A, Mandy McGuire finished 86th in her state meet debut. The junior finished in 20:20.
As a team, the St. Mary’s Colgan girls finished in 10th place with a total time of 1:33:41 and an average of 18:44. Freshman Rachel Farmer finished in 48th with a time of 18:21. Alex Wachter came in at 59th with a time of 18:43. Emmalia White finished 67th with a time of 19:06. Emily Dickey finished at 19:12. Emily Honsicker finished at 97th with at time of 21:55 and Ali Noyes finished at 101st with a time of 23:07.
For Girard, Michaela Bauer finished in 25th with a time of 16:44 and Hayden Herlocker finished at 32nd with a time of 16:49 in the 4A girls race.

PHS girls eighth
LAWRENCE — The Pittsburg High girls team finished in eighth in the 5A run held Rim Rock in Lawrence. The Dragons ran a total time of 1:27:49. Page Miller finished fourth with a time of 16:11. Jacobi Spresser finished 45th in 17:32. McKenzie Spresser finished in 52nd just 12 seconds later. Hannah Carrier finished 55th with at time of 17:46. Emilee Beitzinger finished 76th with at time of 19:05 and Sarah Koroush finished 95th in 20:01.
On the boys side, David Beckhenauer finished in 26th with at time of 17:40. Bryan Mendez finished 69th in 18:38 and Patrick Johnson finished 73rd with a time of 18:47.
