PITTSBURG —
Due to the winter storm that recently passed through Southeast Kansas/Southwest Missouri, the Teri Mathes Zenner Memorial Tournament that the Gorilla Softball team was to play in this weekend has been canceled.
The Gorillas will still get four games in this weekend, however.
Pitt State will travel to Monticello, Ark. for two doubleheaders against the University of Arkansas at Monticello Weevils on Saturday and Sunday (March 2 and 3).
The two teams will face off at 1 and 3 p.m. on Saturday and 12 and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
UAM is 14-6 overall and is already 4-0 in Great American Conference play.
The team is 8-0 on their home field.
The Weevils hit .280 as a team and has a 1.69 ERA. Pitt State is 2-2 after opening the 2013 season at the Saint Leo Tournament on February 16 and 17.
The team has a .333 batting average and a 3.04 ERA.
