The PSU Softball Complex and Al Ortolani Field will have seven games this weekend — four softball and three baseball today and Saturday.
Softball hosts Northeastern State today and Central Oklahoma on Saturday, both doubleheaders starting at 1 p.m.
Baseball originally scheduled a single game today and a doubleheader Saturday but the threat of rain Saturday rearranges the three-game set to a doubleheader today and a single game Saturday. The doubleheader starts at 3 p.m. with the single game slotted for 1 p.m.
PSU softball (10-4) and other Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association schools open conference play this weekend and the Gorillas enter on a six-game winning streak. Northeastern State comes to Pittsburg with a 8-12 record and Central Oklahoma owns a No. 9 national ranking and 14-4 mark.
This weekend also gives the Gorillas their first home softball games.
PSU baseball (9-5, 6-4 MIAA) takes on Southwest Baptist (6-8, 6-6). The Gorillas are currently sixth in the conference standings.
