The St. Mary’s Colgan boys JV basketball team won its own tournament Saturday with a win over Southeast in the first game and a win over Riverton in the championship game.

Colgan won its opener against Southeast by the score of 47-19. Grant Cason led Colgan with 14 points and Brandon Emerson added nine. Tom Burger led Southeast with six.

In the championship game, Colgan defeated Riverton 42-34 behind 10 points apiece by Chase VanBecelaere and Sawyer Esch. Josh Edwards of Riverton led all scorers with 18 points.

Riverton defeated Baxter Springs 44-28 en route to the championship game. Tim McDonald led Riverton with 10 points and Josh Edwards and Tim Brown each scored eight for the victorious Rams. Tom Abernathy led Baxter Springs with seven.

Baxter Springs defeated Southeast 50-31 for third place. Kyle Williams and Tom Abernathy scored 16 and 12 points respectively for the Lions. Paul Zimmerman led Southeast with nine.
