Charlotte (Ann) Geier, 86, of Girard, died at 1:35 p.m., Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at the Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul, Kansas.
Ann was born on May 15, 1936, in Pittsburg, the daughter of Wilbert Kenneth and Lois (Garner) Shanholtzer. She grew up in the Beulah, Kansas, area and graduated from Girard High School.
Ann married Frederick O. Geier on May 15, 1953 in Beulah. He survives of the home.
Ann was a farmwife and helped her husband with farming chores like driving the tractor and milking cows.
She worked at Producers Coop in Girard in 1953 and later at VaCoHy Business Forms in Girard. She helped with Gene Bicknell's campaign before working at Pitt Plastics in Pittsburg. She was a consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics since 1989 and a director for over 30 years.
Ann was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Pittsburg. Over the years, she taught Sunday School and led numerous Bible studies. She also enjoyed her family and visiting with people, her church, playing the piano, swimming, reading, and traveling.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, Fred, of Girard, are a daughter, Joyce L. Taylor, and her husband, Steven, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; her sons, Fred O. Geier Jr. and his wife, Jan, of Farlington, Kenneth L. Geier and his wife, Kristi, of Girard, and Jeffrey D. Geier and his wife, Patty, of Girard; a daughter-in-law, Susan Geier of Girard; as well as 12 grandchildren and over 40 great-grandchildren.
Ann was preceded in death by a son, Steven E. Geier, on Jan. 9, 2016.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard, with Pastors Luke Oldweiler and Cory Estep officiating. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, where friends may call after 2 p.m.
