Cody Meadows

Cody Ray Meadows, 76, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 3, 2024 at his daughter's home following an illness.

Cody was born April 20, 1947 in Raleigh County, WV, the son of Joseph E. and Ora Pearl (Farley) Meadows. Cody attended school at Woodrow Wilson School in Beckley, WV. He later joined the United States Army, earning the rank of Private E-1.

On March 31, 1979 Cody married Reva Lynn (Burke) Prewitt in Maynor, WV; they later divorced. Cody was a semi-truck driver most of his life, places including Smuckers, Carnation, and later, 5 Transportation. He was of the Baptist Faith; he enjoyed ATA Hall Dancing in Saginaw, MO; Pittsburg American Legion; Carthage VFW; wood working; fishing, enjoying sipping a cold beer on the porch during the summer time, and spending time with his family and was known to tease and have fun with the ones he loved.

Survivors include his daughter, Jessica Dell'Antonia and husband, Chuck, of Pittsburg, KS; siblings, Audrey Meadows of Georgia and Darrell Meadows and wife, Susie, of Advance, NC; sister-in-law, Judith Weeks of Georgia; grandson, Ronin William of Pittsburg, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Cody was preceded in death by Reva Lynn Meadows; his parents; siblings Dayton Meadows, Donald Meadows, Ronald Meadows, Pauline Meadows, Ethel Pizak, Jewel Alferink, Shirley Hale, Hazel Robinson; brother-in-laws, Samuel and Daniel Burke; and a great-nephew, Rhonnie Mays.

The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice for the generous and amazing care they provided to Cody since November. They will always be considered family in their eyes.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday March 8, 2024 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS, with Pastor Daryl Gaddy officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. Thursday March 7, 2024 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS; friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Thursday.
