Connie Jo (Mcclelland) Edwards, 61 of Girard, passed away after a long battle with several medical conditions on May 6, 2025.
Connie was born on May 3, 1964, in Girard, KS. to Donald and Naomi Mcclelland.
She Married Alvin Edwards July 20, 1983, he survives of the home. Additional survivors include her brother: Donnie Mcclelland, & one sister: Maggie McCormack.
Connie leaves behind a son: Jason Edwards wife Crystal, two grandsons, (Braxton & Daylon) one daughter Amanda Oney, husband CJ, one granddaughter (Hemi Jo).
Connie was known for her cooking skills, especially homemade chicken & noodles, and pies, she always made things from scratch. Due to her health, she wasn't able to cook much, but would always sit in the kitchen when Alvin or Amanda was cooking just so she could tell them how to do it, or for samples, she especially liked to clean the bowl. If she wasn't in the kitchen, you would probably find her outside roaming the streets in her wheelchair taking her daily scooter rides on nice days with Amanda, and always roaming the yard admiring all of her flowers, or fishing. One of her favorite hobbies was she loved to crochet, but unfortunately, she gave that up due to having Parkinsons. She spent the last few years taking one day at a time and making as many memories she could.
Connie is proceeded in death by her parents, her brother Billy Mcclelland, her son Adam Edwards, grandson Coy Oney, her loving companion of 19 years her chihuahua Tinkerbell Edwards, as well as several other family members.
Celebration of life will be at Living Faith Church (510 E. 47 Hwy, Girard, KS.) on May 31 at 1 p.m.
Memorial donations for final expenses can be left at the church with Amanda the day of the service.
