Jackie Gene Morgan, 81, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on April 28, 2024, at Pittsburg Care & Rehab in Pittsburg, Kansas.
He was born on November 13, 1942, to Hubert and Carrie O. (Murr) Morgan in Pittsburg, KS.
Jack worked most of his life as a truck driver, following in his father's footsteps. He learned to drive a truck when he was 14 years old. He loved being busy and tinkering on cars, trucks, and motorcycles. He also had two car lots in Pittsburg over the years. One was "The Little Car Lot" on East Fourth Street. During this time, he was often called "Mr. Little," which tickled him because he named it that due to it being on a small lot. Many people bought a car or two from him there. Jack had battled with addiction. He was sober for over 40 years, attended many AA meetings, even traveling to some in other states, and always continued to point others to recovery.
Membership was held at the Pittsburg Nazarene Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Andrea Street (Shawn) of Joplin, MO, and Holly Robbins (Tandy) of Pemberville, OH; six grandchildren, Ian Street, Gwenna Street, Simon Jay, Kristi Jay, Sarah Jay, and Corey Jay; and many special nieces, nephews, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 9 siblings, Waynith Billionis, Marjorie Willie, Mary Lou Thomas, Joyce Wilson, Harold Morgan, Delbert Morgan, Kathleen Hood, Hubert Merl Morgan, and Carrie Lynn Charles.
According to Jack's wishes, he has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date, and burial at the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS.
