It is with deep sorrow and love we mourn the passing of James Timothy Blancho (Tim) on March 31, 2024. He was 69 years old.
Tim was born May 21, 1954, to Robert Louis Blancho and June Marie (Pritchard) Blancho in Pittsburg Kansas. He was the third of six children. Sports played an important role in his adolescence. In later years he enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid cyclist.
Tim was united in marriage to Linda (Divine) Blancho at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg. They were blessed with three children.
Tim graduated from St. Mary’s Colgan High School in 1972 and furthered his education at Pittsburg State University.
Tim tried his hand at several careers, from working as a draftsman for McNally Pittsburg to becoming an insurance agent for Business Men’s Assurance Company of Kansas City Missouri. He soon found his niche working in the construction business as a skilled craftsman and woodworker. He later accepted a position with Pittsburg State University as a Facilities Specialist for 16 years until his retirement in 2020.
Tim loved his family deeply.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Linda Blancho, and daughter Bethany Blancho.
Tim was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his two sons Shawn Blancho (wife Alena), Ryan Blancho, and his much-loved grandchildren; Wyatt Johnson, Josie Johnson, and Nathan Ogden. He is also survived by his three brothers; Steven Mark Blancho (wife Diana), Robert Christopher Blancho (wife Mariann), Michael Gregory Blancho (wife Teri); and two sisters, Suzanne (Blancho) Davison (husband Bruce) and Michelle Blancho (wife M.J. Baldinger).
A Private Family Graveside will be held at Highland Park Cemetery with Fr. Robert McElwee as celebrant. Burial will follow. The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Mary’s Altar Society.
