Jennie Hahnemann, of Frontenac, Kansas, passed away Dec. 29, 2022 at the age of 99.
She was born June 30, 1923 to Annie (Selak) Vodisek and Karl Vodisek. She grew up on a farm in Camp 50 and attended Polk Elementary School and graduated from Crawford County Community High School in Arma, with the class of 1941.
Jennie worked in the Probate Judge's Office in the Crawford County Courthouse, where she served as clerk and temporarily as judge pro tem.
On June 5, 1949 she was united in marriage to Frank E. Hahnemann. They were married 52 years when he passed in 2001.
Together they had two daughters. She was a stay-at-home wife and mother and a caregiver to her parents and sister. Jennie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She enjoyed attending all her families' activities; ballgames, dance recitals, band concerts, Christmas programs, school skate, school carnivals, and gatherings around the kitchen table.
Some of her fondest memories were during WWII when you could find a dance hall on almost every corner. She loved to dance. You would find her and Frank and their friends at Barto's Idle Hour every Friday and Saturday night and the Pittsburg American Legion on Sunday afternoon. She was a member of the Lincoln Elementary PTA, Pittsburg High School Band Boosters Parent Club, Red Hat Society - Arma Chapter, and the 1941 Classmates Lunch Club.
She is survived by her two daughters; Linda J. Cope and Lori Las Kares (Bob), her grandchildren; Nanci Cope, Austin Cope, Adam Las Kares, Mariah Bott (Cody), and great grandson Colter James Bott.
Jennie is preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Karl Vodisek; husband, Frank E. Hahnemann; sister, Josephine Johnson; and brother-in-law Willis Johnson.
