Marjory Lou McLeod, 96, of Mulberry, KS, Passed away at 5:29 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Pittsburg Care and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsburg, KS.
Marjory McLeod was born on May 13, 1927, to George and Georgianna (Sears) Holsinger on a farm near Liberal, Missouri. She attended Banner County Schools, Mindenmines Grade School, and graduated from Mulberry High School in 1945.
On September 20, 1944, she was united in marriage to Tom McLeod in Arma, KS. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1979.
Marjory was, first and foremost, a homemaker, raising three children. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years. In later years, she worked as an aide in surgery at Mt. Carmel Medical Center, retiring after 21 years in 1989.
She is survived by two sons, Tom (Berna) McLeod of Frontenac, KS, and Mike (Denise) McLeod of Pittsburg, KS, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom McLeod; sister, Mae Belle Walker; brother, Frank Holsinger; daughter, Linda Lou Palmer; grandson, Wayne Palmer Jr.; and great-grandsons, Aaron McMillin and Bryan Merando.
According to Marjory Lou's wishes, she will be cremated, and there will be no services. The cremains will be buried at a later date in the family plot at Rosebank Cemetery in Mulberry, KS.
The family suggest memorials to the Mulberry Cemetery Fund in memory of Marjory Lou McLeod. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E Washington, Box 621, Arma, KS 66712, or Mulberry City Hall.
