Mary Reed passed away on July 8, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was born on May 19, 1958, in Girard, Kansas, to Delbert and Doris Hudson and attended Girard schools. Mary graduated high school in 1976 and then studied at Pittsburg State University, receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy. Mary settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she met the love of her life, Ronnie Reed, and they were married in 1982. Ronnie's work took them to various places in the country, and they eventually moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico. Mary worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory from 1994 until her retirement in 2019. Always the life of the party, Mary enjoyed playing golf and being with family and friends.
Mary is survived by her husband, Ronnie, of the home, their son, Nicholas Reed, and his fiancee, Renee Paden, of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Other survivors include four brothers and one sister: Jerry (Judy) of Monett, Missouri; David (Pat) of Girard, Kansas; John (Denise) of Casper, Wyoming; Mike (Cathy) of Ballwin, Missouri; and Betty (Gene) Jensen of Gillette, Wyoming. Mary was a fun and loving aunt to seven nieces and nephews: Brett, Betsy, Mark, Cassie, Amanda, Ty, and Hailey, and to four great-nieces and nephews: Greer, Stella, Ava, and Luke.
As per her family's wishes, Mary will be cremated. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a contribution to your favorite charity in Mary's name.
