Rose Marie Armstrong, 71, of Franklin, Kansas, formerly of Ft. Dodge, Iowa passed away at 6:52 p.m. at Via Christi Hospital.
She was born March 23, 1953, in Sioux City, Iowa to Fitch and Theresa Katherine (Bolisinga) Payne. She moved from Ft. Dodge, Iowa six months ago to be near her daughter.
Rose was the Youth Coordinator for six years at the Polk County Shelter and Meyer Hall where she mentored troubled youth.
Rose loved to sing and sang Opera at the Iowa State Fair where she received a 1 rating. She loved to play Yahtzee and work crossword puzzles and she loved to bake.
She is survived by her daughter, Erica Crinnigan (Shane) of Franklin, Kansas; a son, Philip Rounds of Franklin, Kansas; two brothers, Shawn Payne of Miami, Florida and John Payne of Humboldt, Iowa; two sisters, Doris Lynam of Princeton, Minnesota and Rita Ruppert of Round Rock, Texas; and four grandchildren, Matthew Cedeno, Steven Piper, Eliza Michelsen, and Blane Martens; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Benjamin Payne, Herb Cedeno, Louis Cedeno, and Johnny Cedeno; and four sisters, Cecelia Cedeno, Carmen Campbell, Mary Cedeno, and Evelyn Cedeno.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday (April 15) at Zion Lutheran Church, followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Monday (April 15) at the Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Apfel officiating.
