Tolly Gore

Tolly Ann Gore, 91, of Pittsburg, died March 6, 2024, at the Girard Medical Center ER following a sudden illness.

She was born August 2, 1932, in Cheney, KS, the daughter of Harlan B. and Ruby A. (Rollins) Harris. On January 9, 1960, she was united in marriage to Donald H. Gore in Gould, CO; he preceded her in death on September 7, 2009. From this union, a daughter Deborah was born. She enjoyed living in the Colorado mountains for 50 years.

Tolly was a longtime and faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg, where she was involved with UMW and Praise & Prayer. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church of McCune, KS, and North Park Community Church in Walden, CO. She was also very active in her community. She was a Girl Scout for more than 40 years, Secretary of the Wyoming Girl Scout Council, Secretary/Treasurer of North Park Game & Fish Association, Chairman of Walden Planning Commission, First Female Admin Board Chairman, North Park Community Church Chairman, North Park Community Church Centennial Committee member, Woman of the Year 1998 of North Park Woman's Club, and was one of three organizers of Girl Scouts in Jackson County in 1970.

She loved to travel, enjoying many vacations throughout the U.S. in her and Don's travel trailer, as well as cruises on rivers in the U.S. She also loved watching sports, including the University of Colorado and University of Kansas, Colorado Rockies, Kansas City Royals, and the Denver Broncos.

Survivors include her daughter, Deb Krier (Thomas) of Mableton, GA; a sister, Nancy (Dennis) Cashero of Pittsburg; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Harris of Edgerton, KS. Additional survivors include many cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and special friends Mary Cashero, Sara Henry, Margaret Engle and Jim, Melanie, and Cal Marquardt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, and two brothers: Harlan Jack Harris and John Rollins Harris.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 11, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg with Pastor Mark Chambers officiating. Burial will follow after a luncheon at the church at the Highland Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday morning one hour before service time, starting at 10:00 a.m. in the Parlor at the church. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com.
