The Frontenac Raiders 12 and Under fast-pitch softball team won first place at the MOKAN C State Tournament over the weekend. The team lost one game over the weekend, ending with six straight victories over St. Joe Express, Kansas Wild, Power, Manhattan Bullets and two wins over the Trojanettes.

The Frontenac 12 & under fast-pitch softball team won first place at the MOKAN C State Tournament this past weekend.

The Raiders went 1-1 the first day of the tournament (a 7-1 win over the Chillicothe Athletics and a 11-1 loss to the Topeka Lunachix) and then won six consecutive games on Sunday to take the title.

The six-game run included wins over St. Joe Express (8-2), Kansas Wild (8-4), Power (14-0), Manhattan Bullets (6-3) and two wins over the Trojanettes (11-3 and 3-2). The Trojanettes, St. Joe Express and Power are each teams from Missouri.

Frontenac easily won more games in the tournament, averaging 7.2 runs scored and 2.9 runs allowed per game with a game-high of 14 runs.

Frontenac team members include: Abby Moody, Julia Falletti, Kaylee Hogard, Annie Moody and Sydney Fields (front row). Kirk Harper (Coach), Kaylee Harper, Gwen Smalley, Shelby Blythe, Kayla Meyer, Sara Lundberg, Mollie McCully and Dusty Fields (Coach).
