The St. Paul Indians have high expectations this year for their boys and girls basketball teams.  The girls, coached by Mr. Doug Tuck, started off with a win in their season opener.

“We are going to work hard and put ourselves in the best position we can to win. Despite starting off with a good win there is still plenty to improve on to get where we want to go,” said senior Nikki Sears.

The boys on the other hand, with their new head coach Keith Wiatrak, lost in their season opener in a thrilling game against Galena.  The Indians lost by two points but bounced back to get a nice win against Columbus the following week.

“We will play hard every second of the game. We have played hard in our first couple of games but I have high expectations for our team this year; so we will have to continue to work hard to get where we want to go,” said senior Brayden Beachner.

Both teams expect to advance deep into the playoffs and make great runs at the end of their seasons. Good luck to both teams.
