St. Paul High School student Jenny O’Bryan qualified for the state cross country meet as a freshman. Ms. O’Bryan was really nervous before her Regional run because she knew she had to finish in the top 10 to make it to state. Her goal for state cross country was to at least get in the top ten runners. She squeaked by in tenth place, which put her in position for the final race of the season.
The state competition was held in Wamego this year and Jenny placed tenth out of seventy-one runners. Jenny stated she had to start running in June just to be in shape and she has been running every day since then. This dedication allowed her to meet goals and qualify for state because she knew that her hard work through the season paid off.
“It makes me feel awesome knowing I did because of the dedication I put into it,” stated O’Bryan.
Congratulations on an excellent season, Jenny!
