Football
The St. Paul High School football team has gotten off to a great start so far this fall and look to keep on track heading into the second half of the season.
“We need to continue to get better each week, making improvements in a lot of different areas,” said head coach, Mr. Doug Tuck. Some key components to the Indians’ success will be to stay healthy and improve on their run defense.  Senior quarterback, Anthony Diskin, said, “I’m proud of the way we have played so far, but we still need to improve and keep winning games.  Our goals will start with winning league and district titles and later, advancing deep into the playoffs.”

Volleyball
The Lady Indians volleyball team has also gotten off to a solid start. “We are learning to play together as a team. We have plenty of room for improvement and will hopefully continue to improve every game,” said head coach, Mrs. Jenny Hutcherson.  Seniors Bethany Paulie and Nikki Sears both agree that they need to work together and hope to make it to the state tournament.

Cross Country
This is just the third year that St. Paul High School has had a cross country team and they are looking great.  Even though the team is still low in numbers, they continue to get better and keep doing well at meets. The Indians only have three runners this year and with senior Sara Greenough being injured, freshman Jenny O’Bryan is picking up the slack with several top ten finishes. Senior runner Tryce Nelson said, “I feel like I haven’t lived up to my potential so far this season and need to improve in these last few races.”

The Indians also have a new coach this year, Mrs. Marcia Gard. She plans to learn as much about this sport as she can and put her athletes in the best position she can to be successful.

“I want to give students another sport to be involved in if they are not already in others,” said Mrs. Gard.
