GIRARD —
All local FCCLA chapter officers from the 12 District J-East schools came together for leadership training at Greenbush on Friday, Sept. 14.
District president Katelin White ran the meeting and held a workshop for all of the chapter presidents.
“Officers from the district schools got to meet up and get ideas to kick off the year. They learned necessary skills and got ideas to take back to their own chapters. It was a fun day for everyone,” Ms. White said.
Each Girard chapter officer attended different workshops to gain ideas for activities and community service. The goal of the summer leadership camp is to determine responsibilities for the Fall Leadership Conference in November.
FCCLA sponsor Emily Bray said, “This is good leadership training for Girard officers to meet other officers and get ideas that make Girard’s FCCLA chapter better.”
This year’s officers include Katelin White, president; Christian Provence, vice president; Taylor Evans, secretary; Aubri Ashbacher, treasurer; Hadyn Herlocker, Student Council representative; and Kendra Samuels and Audrey Bauer, activity coordinators.
The FCCLA theme for this year’s Fall Leadership Conference is the Olympics with the goal of challenging other districts to be bigger, faster and stronger.
