DC Smith, 75, of Pittsburg, KS died at 7:15 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2009 at his home after a long illness.     
DC was born December 1, 1933 in Summerfield, OK to David Clarence and Lilah Gertrude (Morrison) Smith.
DC attended area schools, graduating with a Bachelors degree in chemistry.
On December 17, 1957, in Oklahoma, he married Eva Sue Miller. She survives of the home.
DC was the owner/operator of Smith’s Upholstery for 36 years.
DC belonged to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses where he was an elder.
Additional survivors include his sons DC Smith, Jr. of Coos Bay, OR and Tim Smith of Dallas, TX; daughters Julia Hudson of Pittsburg and Shalicia Loyd of Coweta, OK; sisters Estelle Shrum of Bethany, OK and Charlotte Dixon of Oklahoma City, OK; along with 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
DC was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Faye Walden and Opal Hamner and brother Carl Smith.
Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, May 25, 2009 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Pittsburg with Greg Brown officiating.
