  • Today’s busy schedules keep us on a fast track allowing little time for reflection, long-term planning, and just enjoying being in the present.
Looking at how to live your life richer is a personal decision; one that we often do not take time to reflect upon.
Happiness studies show that the aspects of life that give meaning and satisfaction can be summarized by four factors:
    1) Strong, trusting relationships with one or more people
    2) Healthy mind and body
    3) Enough money to live comfortably without constant financial concerns
    4) Knowing oneself and how to nurture and care for oneself.
When these factors get out of balance, life is not as satisfying as an individual would like it to be. Individuals may discover they are hurrying more and enjoying life less!
Constant business can foster irritability, poor decision-making skills, and weakened relationships. It can create the inability to cope with everyday activities.
Could you live a life richer by making some lifestyle changes?
Begin by learning to say no to those things that really do not give you satisfaction and do not help you to meet your life goals. What activities and responsibilities could you eliminate or reduce to lighten your load?
Stop making excuses for not doing what it takes to reach your life goals. If better health is your wish, begin making better food choices and exercise more.
If stronger, healthier personal and family relationships are what you are striving for, then why not devote more time to those relationships.
Set goals for where you want to be in life. What would you like to see improve in your life this year, within five years, by the time you have a family, or by the time you retire?
Clarifying your values is key to making meaningful change. Values guide your actions even though those values may not be recognized. You may be unclear of what is of value to you until you find your values and beliefs in conflict with the way you are living your life.
Self-actualization is the ongoing pursuit of one’s interests and the creation of one’s best self. Take a mental look at where your life is taking you. Are you living the live you wish to live? Can you set goals and strive to live life richer?
