  • LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: ‘Good old boys’ preventing good legislation

There has been a very high price paid, first to gain our freedom and then over the years to protect and defend those precious freedoms that we all take too much for granted. Wake up America for the present administration in Washington is going outside the powers set by our Constitution to get what they want regardless of the freedoms they are taking away from us.

One voice trying to tell the millions of Americans that they will have to get off your apathetic butts and get involved, and the sooner the better, in the governmental processes of managing our country before there will be any major changes coming from Washington. The “good old boys club” will have to be ran out of town before that will happen. What they tell the newly elected senators and representatives is “we do things different up here on the Hill and if y ou don’t get in line you will not be able to get very much, if any, of the ‘goodies’ for your state or district.” There will not be very much, if any, good legislation enacted as long as there is a gridlocked Congress. The American people deserve a much better deal than they are getting from the Washington crowd right now. “We the People” should demand it.

    Thank you,

    Ernest E. Coffman
