  • The Mount Carmel Foundation has a new executive director.
Foundation President Jim Belew on Monday said that Duane Dreiling has been named as the Foundation’s executive director.
Dreiling is joining the Mount Carmel Foundation during an important period, Belew said. The Foundation has made a commitment to raise more than $1 million to help fund Via Christi Hospital’s Women’s Services project, and Dreiling, who has extensive experience as a fundraiser, will play a key role in realizing that goal.
“We are excited about the leadership Duane brings to the Mount Carmel Foundation and the success of the Women’s Services Initiative the Foundation has launched in support of Via Christi Hospital,” Belew said.
Dreiling said he will set the fundraising project as one of hit top priorities.
“I strongly believe the commitment made by the Mount Carmel Foundation to the Women’s Services Initiative is essential to ensure the physical, mental and spiritual health of the communities served by Via Christi Hospital Pittsburg,” Dreiling said. “The completion of the Women’s Center will allow Via Christi Hospital to meet the needs of the special women in all of our lives, and do so in a state-of-the-art facility.”
Dreiling has 18 years of experience in non-profit organizations. He has previously served as the Executive Director of the United Way of the Flint Hills and has worked with foster parents for The Farm, Inc. Family Services.
“Duane’s work in those areas shows he is committed to the core values of our ministry,” said Via Christi Pittsburg President/CEO Randy Cason. “The Mount Carmel Foundation embodies those values of human dignity, stewardship and excellence. With Duane as the Executive Director, we are confident about the future of the Mount Carmel Foundation and the quality of care it helps our hospital provide.”
