Burke competed in the 114 lbs weight class, placed third in bench with 105 lbs and second in squats with 185 lbs. O'brien competed in the heavy weight class, placed third in bench with 275 lbs. Boaz competed in the 132 lbs weight class, placed first in bench with 195 lbs and first in squats with 275 lbs. Nikki Sears, Alex McCracken, Cody Newberry, Tyler Stein, Billy Brown, Bryce Carlson, and Justin Winter also competed.
Coach Doug Tuck said, “They were solid and everyone did their best.” Overall the boys tied for fifth as a team. They all went out there and tried there hardest and came home with some wins to prove that they brought their best.
Boaz, a senior who has competed all four years, said, “I had fun and each year I tried to get better and place higher with more weight each time.” Boaz said his motto is, “If you're not first, you're last.” All participants did very well this year and they are now getting ready for next year.
