  • Dear editor,
I have researched both candidates for the position of Crawford County Attorney. Michael Gayoso’s record speaks for itself. Real time for real crime and taking repeat offenders off the streets.
Everything that I have found about Angela Trimble is related to civil law cases. That is a far cry from experience in criminal law. From an article in The Morning sun dated April 21, 2006, Ms. Trimble was the assistant prosecuting attorney in a child abuse case. Ms. Trimble made a deal for “immediate probation.” Retired Judge Nolan said the crime “was incredibly heinous. [The victim] will pay for your actions for the rest of her life.” he did not honor the plea deal and gave the woman 32 months in prison.
There is serious crime in Crawford County. There are now charges pending on the death of a child from Frontenac. Can we sit back and let a civil attorney prosecute in such a case as this. ms. Trimble wants to be the voice for those that have no voice. When she prosecuted before her voice was pretty weak for the victim in my opinion. We need a strong person with experience in criminal law not someone that can assist you in social security or workmans comp cases.
Mr. Gayoso did several years of defense law before he started to prosecute. His experience of both sides of criminal law has already paid off for the citizens. A vote for Michael is voting for experience.
