Willingham, James E., age 85 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Aventura, FL and Pittsburg, KS, went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2008. James was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Farragut. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Coast Guard, was a disabled veteran and a member of the D.A.V. and the VFW. James was retired from Clemens Coal Company, Pittsburg, KS. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. His wife of 40 years, Geraldine Marie Willingham, preceded James in death on Christmas morning, 2004. He is survived by his children, Renee Hamilton and husband Steven of Farragut, Lt. Col Paul Willingham and wife Maj. (retired) Kris Willingham of Wichita, KS, Greg Willingham and wife Kae of Virginia, Elizabeth Elwinger of Florida, James Willingham of New Jersey, Father Jeff Willingham of New Jersey; grandchildren, Jarrod Elwinger and wife Jennifer of VA, Shelby Elwinger of FL, Alexis, David and Jessica Hamilton all of Farragut; Brian and Beth Willingham of VA; The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:15 p.m. Monday at St John Neumann Catholic Church with a Rosary to follow at 6:30. A Mass will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Father John Dowling celebrant. Family and friends will gather at 9: 30 a.m. Tuesday at the East Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery for graveside services with full military honors conferred by the East Tennessee State Veteran’s Honor Guard.
