A rigatoni dinner benefiting the Children’s Advocacy Center will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the lower level of Pittsburg Memorial Auditorium.

A rigatoni dinner benefiting the Children’s Advocacy Center will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the lower level of Pittsburg Memorial Auditorium.
Menu will feature rigatoni, salad, green beans, bread, dessert and coffee or tea. Take-outs will be available.
Cost will be $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Those under 5 will eat free. All proceeds will go to the Children’s Advocacy Center, Inc., a non-profit agency providing services to abused children. Anyone needing additional information may call 620-235-0067.

Skirmish dedication
A marker commemorating the Cow Creek Skirmish will be dedicated at 2 p.m. at the Crawford County Historical Museum.
The skirmish of Oct. 23, 1864, started near the site of the Pittsburg  Waste Water Treatment Plant, and concluded not far from the current museum grounds. It is believed that 13 men died in the Civil war action.
Several Civil War reenactors will be present to acknowledge the fallen soldiers the marker represents.

Youth Sunday
Pittsburg Presbyterian Church will have a special Youth Sunday worship service at 10 a.m. Children and youth will lead the congregation in worship.
Elementary school children will present a skit titled “Why Go?” Middle school  youth will have a skit titled “The Pit of Humanity.” “This Little Light of Mine” will be the skit performed by high school youth.
Youth and children will also present special music.
Youth and children are led by Julie Bernhardt, Anna Noonoo, Bill and Lori Atkinson, Jim Harris and Lori Las Kares.
The service will be open to the community. Refreshments will follow the service.

Turkey dinner
GIRARD — St. Michael’s Altar Society will have its annual turkey dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the St. Michael’s Hall, 509-511 W. Walnut, Girard.
Menu will feature turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberry salad, bread and pie.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children aged 3 to 12. Carry-out orders will be available.

Legion dance
Pittsburg American Legion Post 64 will have a dance from 3 to 6 p.m., open to members and guests only, at the post home. Doors will open at 1 p.m.
Music will be provided by “Cotton.” Admission will be $4.50 per person.

‘Trunk or Treat’
First Baptist Church, 209 W. Seventh,  will have “Trunk or Treat” from 5 to 7 p.m. Safe treats will be distributed, and all children in the community are welcome.

Elks bingo
Pittsburg Elks Lodge will sponsor bingo, with the doors opening at 5:30 p.m. If  60 or more people attend, the Elks will pay $40 for special games.
