    • The sheriff’s department also released details Thursday on an aggravated robbery and theft that occurred in late April. Shortly after 3:30 a.m. on April 28, deputies responded to the area of 1076 E. 580th Ave. in rural Pittsburg after a call from Shawna Myers, Cherokee.
Myers said she had picked up three unknown males at the intersection of 20th and Walnut who had knocked on her car window to ask for a ride to a party outside Pittsburg while Myers was stopped at the intersection.
The males directed her to 250th St. and 580th Ave., which was flooded at the time. Myers stopped the car, refusing to drive through, when one male pulled out a handgun and ordered her from the car. Myers fled into a nearby field and hid until they drove away in her car.
Later on that day, Barton County, Mo., sheriff’s deputies found Myers’ car in a field in Missouri on SW 80th St. The vehicle was impounded for evidence. Deputies were told by a witness that three young males and two young females had been seen walking westbound away from the car.
Pittsburg police called investigators about a subject fitting one of the three descriptions. Investigators interviewed three male juveniles in custody after running away from an area youth facility.
Page 2 of 2 - After the interview, the sheriff’s office submitted charges against all three juvenile males for aggravated robbery with a firearm and theft of property. The suspects remain in the SEK Juvenile Detention Facility.
