Weir Public Library board of trustees met Aug. 13.
Members present were Ronda Coltrane, Karen Thompson, Trish Wyckoff, Foxy Blessant and Stef Arbuckle.
The library will have a bake sale in the park during the Weir Homecoming drawings on Sept. 20.
A “Taste of Home” and “Creative Cook,” both three-ring cookbooks, are available for viewing at the library. Donations are being taken at $1 per ticket or six for $5 on the cookbooks. Drawing will be held during the bake sale on Sept. 20.
All proceeds from the bake sale and the drawing will go toward paint for the library interior.
Buddy the library dog keeps a watchful eye on the library, especially the magazine rack and is offering patrons an opportunity to become a “Library Buddy.” Buddies are patrons willing to purchase a subscription to one of the magazines available at the library. Those who wish will have their name, along with the magazine they purchased, on the “Buddy Board” above the magazine rack.
Novelty cake pans may be borrowed from the library for a two-week period, and Parents As Teachers sponsors the Toy Lending Library. Anyone needing additional information about Parents As Teachers may contact Dacia White, local parent educator, at 620-719-0835.
