  • Ruby Mae Myers, 94 of Pittsburg, KS passed away at 5:48 p.m. Sunday May 5th 2013 at the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, MO following a fall at home.
    Ruby was born April 27, 1919 in Arcadia, KS the daughter of Joe and Mae (Jenkins) Schaub.  She attended Arcadia schools and worked for the Arcadia post office.
    Ruby married Clifford Ueal  Myers on September 3, 1938 in Arcadia,KS.  He preceded her in death on May 6th 1993.  They resided in Pittsburg since 1944.
    Ruby was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother who loved spending time with the grandkids.  They always knew they could find a treat at Grandy’s.  She loved dancing with her husband of 54 years, playing pinochle, delivering Frontenac meals-on-wheels, going to the bowling alley & holding her precious great-grand babies.  Ruby was well known for her great cooking & delicious pies.  She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
    Survivors include her daughter Uealene Pingree, granddaughters Kim Martin and husband Jason of Cherryvale, KS; Pam Clemensen and husband Jason of Pittsburg; daughter-in-law Billie Myers of Emporia, KS; granddaughter Paula Myers of Leavenworth, KS, grandson Brian and  wife Carrie Myers of Louisburg, KS; Great-grand kids Tanner, Teagan and Trey Myers, Allee and Sami Martin, Cameron Peak and Landon and Easton Clemensen; several nieces and nephews. She was blessed to have Georgia Longstreth of Fredericksburg, TX as a very best friend.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Rita Mae Myers, son Joe Myers, brothers Bud and Lester Schaub, a sister Elva Elliott and a son-in-law Gary Pingree.
     Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday May 9, 2013 at the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac with Pastor Blair Thompson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Thursday.  The casket will remain closed at all times.  Condolences can be sent to www.friskelfuneralhome.com  Memorial contributions can be given to the donorís choice of charity, church or organization.  Memorials may be brought by or mailed to the Friskel Funeral Home 230 E.
