Charles J. Wilkins, age 33, died at 3:25 am, Friday, June 17, 2011 at the scene of an auto accident at NW 70 and Hwy 102, west of West Mineral KS.



Charles was born November 11, 1977 in Kansas City, KS.  His parents were Thom J. and Katherine (Hudson) Wilkins. He had lived in Sherman City for the past 8 years after spending most of his life in the Corona KS area.

Charles J. Wilkins, age 33, died at 3:25 am, Friday, June 17, 2011 at the scene of an auto accident at NW 70 and Hwy 102, west of West Mineral KS.

Charles was born November 11, 1977 in Kansas City, KS.  His parents were Thom J. and Katherine (Hudson) Wilkins. He had lived in Sherman City for the past 8 years after spending most of his life in the Corona KS area.

He had worked for Crossland Construction Co. for the past 4 years with iron and steel construction.  He was a member of the West Mineral Eagles lodge #918 and Ducks Unlimited.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Charles was married to Alice I Jenkins on March 12, 2001 in Miami, OK.  She survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Clayton Wilkins, and Ryan Wilkins and one daughter, Briget Jenkins, all of the home; his father, Thom Wilkins, Conway Springs, KS and Katherine Wilkins, Chicopee, KS; three sisters, Lisa Spicer and husband Scott, Gardner, KS, Natalie Adams and husband Bruce, Camdenton, MO, and Jessica Wilkins and husband, Luke, Conway Springs, KS; His father and mother in law, Karen and Herb McReynolds, Weir, KS; and several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 22 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Columbus KS.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 22 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Columbus, KS.  Aaron Williams will officiate.  Burial will be in Star Cemetery, West Mineral, KS.
