  • Citizens of Girard:

After 40 years absent, I’m coming home. In 6 months I’ll retire to a home we’ve purchased in Girard. I’ve seen many improvements thanks to a responsible council.

I just got my local paper and read the interviews of political candidates. Such great choices! A former employee who couldn’t follow rules or responsibly manage one section now thinks he can enforce the rules as the leader of government and be accountable for millions of dollars, yet this is not sour grapes? Stop insulting public intelligence.

Another running again because it’s time to update water towers and freshen up the community? Aren’t they doing that already? She had plenty of time to accomplish these things before, yet chose to do nothing. Now run on a platform of doing things the sitting council is already doing?

Let’s not forget their well-written ad in the classifieds of the Sun. They bought an ad so not to take credit for placing it, old trick. Question… which one of you geniuses failed to hit spell-check? Don’t be fooled citizens; its all sour grapes and personal agenda.

It’s called being a publicservant; not selfservant. Stop leveraging personal agenda, axes to grind, and get even motives at the risk of harming the city.

The stakes are too high; let them risk their personal well-being with ignorant behavior, but don’t allow them to play with our future. Look through the wool being pulled and do the right thing on Election Day.
