I’ve lived in Pittsburg most of my life, owned a small business, served as a city commissioner, mayor and have always been one of the biggest supporters of PSU and this community. I love Pittsburg and want to make sure we elect good people to the commission. We need someone who stands up for the rights of the people, small businesses and makes sure our city maintains its current functions, while thinking about our future. That’s why I’m proud to endorse my longtime friend Dave Holloman. Dave is the kind of man who always stands up for what is right, no matter if it means making a popular decision or not. For example, he stood with the local trash haulers when their businesses were being attacked by the city. With the city demanding everyone have separate service, this puts additional cost on the citizens. Dave understands most of the 4,800 senior citizens are on fixed incomes and sometimes save money by sharing trash service. Dave also went to bat for us all when the current commission began talking about the new property codes. Dave tried for weeks to work with the city manager and commission to develop a reasonable compromise that wouldn’t burden citizens, create extra costs or restrict their property rights. Dave understands seniors already struggle to pay their bills. We cannot afford to be fined for things like chipped paint, rusty railings and broken sidewlaks. Please join me in voting for Dave Holloman on Tuesday, April 2.
