Mirza Nobelles
Mirza Nobelles will meet at 11 a.m. at the Corner Bistro. Hosting the meeting will be Jeannie McLaughlin.

Rotary Club
Pittsburg Rotary Club will meet at noon in dePaul Hall, Via Christi Hospital. Leslie Harris will present the program on the Southeast Kansas Humane Society.

Mike Hart will give the invocation, and Judy Westhoff will be song leader. Ellen Carter will have introductions, and Becky May will serve as sergeant at arms.

Lions Club
Pittsburg Lions Club will meet at 6 p.m. in the Sheridan Room, Via Christi Hospital. Bill Gray, president, will preside.

The program, an overview of the Southeast Kansas Humane Society, will be presented by Leslie Harris.  Election of officers will be held for the 2012-2013 term.

Lions Clubs collect used eyeglasses for those in need in Third World countries.  Collection boxes are located at Walmart and the offices of Pittsburg optometrists.

KU musical revue
The University of Kansas Alumni Association and the KU theater department will present “Boy Meets Girl,” a musical revue, at 6 p.m. in the Pittsburg High School auditorium.

Performed by seven KU students in the troupe Musical Theatre for Kansas, “Boy Meets Girl” was written and directed by John Staniunas, KU theater department chairman. The short program consists of 25 songs which explore the “boy meets girl” motif of musical comedy.

The program is open free to the community. Light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided.

School skate
Girard and Arma school skates will be held from 6 to  8 p.m. at Lowe’s Skateway.

Avenue of Flags
Avenue of Flags will have a monthly meeting at 7 p.m. at Jayhawk Signs and Graphics, 701 N. Grand. Tim Dainty will conduct the meeting.

Music/dance night
Music and dance night will be from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Homer Cole Community Center, 3003 N. Joplin.

Area musicians provide music for listening and dancing. Admission is a $1 fee. Refreshments are potluck finger foods. Coffee and punch will be provided by the center. Anyone needing additional information may call the center at 231-9773.

WomenHeart
WomenHeart of Southeast Kansas will meet at 7 p.m. in the Via Christi Hospital cafeteria.

Speaker will be Shelley Watts, APRN, who will discuss “Women’s Heart Health.”

Chapter CP, PEO
Chapter CP, PEO, will meet at the home of Koeta Bryant, 1008 Cedar Lane, with Leann Webb and Deborah Dallman assisting.

A luncheon will be served in celebration of the chapter’s 87th birthday. Joan Farrell will present a program titled “How Did We Live Without Them” following the meeting.

Chapter IO, PEO
Chapter IO, PEO, will meet at 1 p.m. at the First Christian Church with Nikke Foster and Edith Scott as hostesses.

Program will be “Peace and Love for Special People” by Sue Zan Foster.

Chapter AQ, PEO
Chapter AQ, PEO, will have an evening social at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Barbara Rhodes. Co-hostesses will be Joanna Rhodes, Samantha Rhodes and Shirley Thomas.

Those attending should bring an hors d’oeuvre.

Chapter CJ, PEO
Chapter CJ, PEO, will meet at 6 p.m. to celebrate the chapter’s birthday and salute Karen Bowen, CJ’s “Golden Girl.”

Hostesses will be the birthday party committee with Sharon Dean as chairman. The committee coordinates the birthday party by planning the location, food and entertainment. Each member will pay for her dinner.

Scottish Rite
FORT SCOTT — Coffee and doughnuts will be served at 8 a.m. every Tuesday at the Scottish Rite Center, 110 S. Main, Fort Scott.

There will be no set agenda or predetermined topic, simply conversation among friends. Everyone is welcome to attend,  and need not be Scottish Rite members or Masons.  Men attending are welcome to bring their wives or friends.

ARMA TOPS
ARMA — The ARMA TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

Chapter meetings include private weigh-in, information on good nutrition, educational programs and moral support and encouragement to help members reach their weight loss goals.
