Arcadia Christian Church will have its annual women’s retreat Saturday, beginning with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. in the church bungalow. Special music will be provided by Patty McCullough, and Kristin Girard, Joplin, will be the speaker. Lunch will be served. All interested women may attend.

Larry and Vickie Shead visited family in Tulsa, Okla., during their spring break from school and brought grandchildren Cademon and Atalie Ray home with them. On Thursday Larry Shead and Clayton Whitson, uncle, took the children to meet their parents at Miami, Okla.
Word was received of the death of Jimmie Mac Gust Sr., 80, March 22 in Merriam.  The son of the late George and Rhoda Gust, he was born and raised near the Corporon Hill in south Arcadia and graduated from Pittsburg High School. He spent more than 50 years as a minister. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Gust, and sister Rose Lenore Bowers. Services and burial were in Rosebank Cemetery, Mulberry.
Jodie Dunn, widow of Galen Dunn, who founded Chariots of Fire and also a missions school in the Philippines, had planned to visit the Open Door Church  in March but had to cancel her plans because of illness. If her health improves, Mrs. Dunn will attend graduation exercises this spring in the Philippines.
