Developmental screening will be available Nov. 5 at Park School, Columbus, for all children from birth to age 5 who may be in need of special education and related services in Cherokee County.

Vision, hearing, speech and developmental screenings will be conducted for children from birth through age 5 at no cost.  The free screening is sponsored by the Southeast Kansas Interlocal No. 637 and the local school district serving Altamont.

Appointments are necessary. Those wishing to schedule an appointment for children from birth to age 2 should call Kristy Nelson at 800-362-0390, ext. 1765. Anyone wishing to make an appointment for children ages 3-5 should call Shandi Zwahlen at 620-429-3905.

Next developmental screening will be held Jan. 14 at Lincoln Elementary School, Baxter Springs.
