Charles G. Steele, age 62, a resident of Columbia, Tenn., passes away Sunday, June 21, 2009. Mr. Steele had formerly lived in Mulberry, Kan. He was a self -employed brick layer. He served as a sergeant in the Vietnam War, and was wounded in battle.

Charles G. Steele, age 62, a resident of Columbia, Tenn., passes away Sunday, June 21, 2009. Mr. Steele had formerly lived in Mulberry, Kan. He was a self -employed brick layer. He served as a sergeant in the Vietnam War, and was wounded in battle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Audrey Rigsby Steele. Survivors include his fiancee Gail Par Hardison of Columbia, sister Brenda and husband Jimmy Haskin, son Charles G. Steele Jr., grandsons Charles G. Steele III, and Corey Steele, aunt Helen Connor, uncle Harless Connor, niece Randee Gordon and husband Chris Potts, great nephews Dalon Donovan, Shadon Peery, and several cousins. Special friends include Jerry and Jan Rooker and Pete and Melba Rogers, Tennessee, Bill Trotnic, Mulberry, Kan., and Jim Kunzler, Arcadia, Kan.

A private memorial service was held June 27, 2009 in Tennessee.
