Poker Run/Swap Meet
Fifth annual April Fools Poker Run/Swap Meet will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Fort Scott Community College-Harley Davidson Technician Training Center, Frontenac.
Motorcycles and classic cars are welcome to participate in the 113-mile all-Kansas ride. The event is being sponsored by Four State Scooter Boosters, Cycle Connection and Freddy’s Frozen Custard.
First vehicle out will leave at noon, and the last in will be at 3:30 p.m. Best hand and worst hand prizes will be announced at 4 p.m.
A silent auction will be held, with music provided by a live band and a local DJ. Food will be available, starting at 11 a.m.
Cost will be a $10 donation per hand, or three hands for $25, with registrations taken at the door. All proceeds will benefit the Harley-Davidson Training Center SkillsUSA Chapter. Anyone needing additional information may call 231-3819.
Food Share America
Food Share America orders for the April distribution will be taken from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the west gym door of the First Church of the Nazarene.Food Share America is a non-profit food purchasing program that offers savings because volunteers help sort, package and distribute food that is purchased in bulk. JOPLIN, Mo. — Joplin Museum Complex will host a train show and swap meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the complex, located between the pool and golf course in Schifferdecker Park.
Included will be model, collectible and antique electric trains, as well as train memorabilia and operating layouts. There will be more than 50 tables of items for sale.
Admission will be $3 for adults and free for children under 12. All proceeds will benefit the Joplin Museum Complex.
ARMA — Arma American Legion Post 182 will have a spaghetti dinner, open to the public, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the post home. Menu will include spaghetti, meatballs, salad and garlic toast. Carry-outs will be available.
Cost will be a $5 donation.
An all-you-can-eat pancake feed will be held from 6 a.m. to noon at the First Church of the Nazarene.
Cost will be $5 for adults and $3 for children aged 3-12. Those under 3 will eat free. Sausage and beverages are included.
All proceeds will go toward financing the church mission team trip to Puerto Rico.
Annual Rollin-4-Rover benefit skate for the Southeast Kansas will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at Lowe’s Skateway Skating Center.
Admission will be $5, plus a donation of cat or dog food. Cat litter or animal toys will also be accepted.
ARCADIA — Annual women’s retreat will be held at the Arcadia Christian Church, opening with a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Theme will be “Jesus Is Alive!”
Special music will be conducted by Cal and Judy Swickard, and special speaker will be Shirley Coen. A soup and salad buffet will be served at noon, followed by pamper time and crafts led by Kristen Peterson Girard. The retreat will end with a drawing for gift prizes at 3 p.m.
All area women may attend.
