Life Line Screening will be at the Frontenac Senior Center on May 14. Appointments will begin at 9 a.m.
Screenings available will include stroke/carotid artery, atrial fibrillation and peripheral arterial disease, all designed to check for risks of cardiovascular disease, abdominal aortic aneurysm screening, which looks for a ballooning of the largest artery in the body.
Additional screenings can be added for a more comprehensive risk assessment, and include c-reactive protein, a blood marker for vascular disease and diabetes; complete lipid pane including HDL/LDL and total cholesterol; glucose, a measure of blood sugar level which can determine risk for diabetes; and an ultrasound screening for osteoporosis.
Cost will be $140 for any four screenings, or $199 for all eight screenings.
