  • Lucille Arduino 93, of Pittsburg, KS died 11:30pm Wednesday January 2, 2013 at the Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS following a sudden illness.  
    Lucille was born November 26, 1919 in Capaldo, KS the daughter of Ignazio and Carmella (Redente) Mangile.  She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Capaldo Schools.
     On April 19, 1947 Lucille married Joe Arduino in Capaldo, KS; he preceded her in death on July 26, 2007.  Lucille was a homemaker most of her life but worked briefly at the Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons, KS from 1968-1972.  Lucille was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, KS; Italian Heritage Society; loved gardening, canning, sewing, baking, cooking, but most of all her family.  
    Survivors include her children Luanne Planchon and husband Tom of Enterprise, AL and Carmella Heter of Pittsburg, KS; Siblings Josephine Modica of Naperville, IL, Helen Daniel and husband Doug of Hamilton, OH, Albert Dean Mangile and wife Dorothy of Pittsburg, KS, Ronald Mangile and wife Barbara of Capaldo, KS; a special nephew Robert Mangile and wife Liz of Pittsburg, KS; grandchildren Cristin Bankson and husband Stephen of Little Rock, AR, Amanda Heter of Kansas City, MO and Jonathan Heter and wife Ashleigh of Pittsburg, KS; great-grandchildren Hailee Bankson and Parker Bankson of Little Rock, AR and Natalie Heter of Pittsburg, KS.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Camille, Sam, John, Frank, Pete, and Eugene Mangile.  
    Mass of Christian Burial will be 2pm Monday January 7, 2013 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, KS with Fr. Marco De Loera as Celebrant.  Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS.  Family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00pm Sunday January 6, 2013 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS.  Friends may call the funeral home after 11am Sunday.  In lieu of flowers the family ask expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the Angels Among Us.  Friends may drop off or mail memorials to the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S.
