I spent the afternoon and early evening the other day at Crawford State Park working on a story about the rental cabins they offer for visitors to the park. The photographs I made are of the Shady Rest cabin which can sleep up to nine guests. I had a great time wandering around searching for photo opportunities. At one point it was just me walking around by myself and I answered a barred owl that I heard off in the distance who in returned replied back much louder like it owned the place. It reminded me of camping trips I took as a kid. I heard several coyotes yelping to each other somewhere in the park as the sun went down and night started to take over. I saw two great blue herons gracefully fly together across the lake, their long wings almost touching the water surface as they flew. I had a lot of fun out there and a very peaceful afternoon. I have added a link to the story by Will Klusener below.
