    PSU concert
Soprano Sarah Wolfson will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Sharon Kay Dean Recital Hall, McCray Hall, Pittsburg State University.
Her performance will open the second half of the 2012-2013 PSU Solo and Chamber Music Series. She will be accompanied by pianist Renate Rohlfing.
Wolfson’s recent concerto/oratorio performances with orchestras have covered a broad range of repertoire, from Schubert’s “Mass in E-flat” and the Brahms “Requiem” to the folk songs of Luciano Berio. A dedicated performer of new music, she created the role of Celia in the world premiere of John Musto’s “Volpone,” commissioned and presented by the Wolf Trap Opera Company.
She has also sung with other opera companies and music festivals, including the Santa Fe Opera, Aspen Opera Theater, Brevard Music Festival, Spoleto Festival USA and La Jolla Summerfest.
Wolfson is a graduate of the Juilliard School, where she received the William Schuman Prize for outstanding achievement and leadership in music, the highest award given to a graduate student. She is a member of Sing for Hope, a non-profit organization founded by opera singers that links artists and charities.
Concert tickets are $12 for the general public, $8 for persons over 65 or under 18, and free for full-time PSU students. Tickets may be obtained in advance at the University Ticket Office or at the door.
