Following a short business session, club member Diana Kerle will introduce the program. Randy Roberts, Pittsburg State University curator of Special Collects and archivist for Axe Library, will present the program on J.A. Wayland and the Appeal to Reason, a socialist newspaper that at one time had a circulation of 400,000 copies per week.

Members will collect aluminum cans from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday on Dillon’s parking lot. Proceeds from can sales go to club projects benefiting area youth.

Rotary Club
Pittsburg Rotary Club will meet at noon in dePaul Hall, Via Christi Hospital. Program will be given by Barry Crossing, U.S. attorney.

Greeters will be Bob Tomassi, Mark Werner and Judy Westhoff . Tom Sims will give the invocation, and song leader will be Bryan Wyckoff. Brett Dalton will have introductions, and serving as sergeant at arms will be Bobby Winters.

Lions Club
Pittsburg Lions Club will meet at 6 p.m. in the Sheridan Room, Via Christi Hospital, for a nomination meeting.

Gene Allen, zone chairman, will visit the club. Bill Gray will preside.

Adobe User Group
Adobe User Group will meet at 6 p.m. in room S104, Pittsburg State University College of Technology.

Meetings, held the fourth Tuesday of each month, are open to anyone interested in Adobe programs, graphics and web design. Anyone wishing additional information may e-mail psa.game.sok.org.

WomenHeart
WomenHeart of Southeast Kansas will meet at 7 p.m. in the Via Christi Hospital cafeteria.

WomenHeart is the only national organization dedicated to advancing women’s heart health through advocacy, community education and patient support. The group advocates for equal access to quality care and provides information and resources to help women take charge of their heart health.

Avenue of Flags
Pittsburg Avenue of Flags will have a monthly meeting at 7 p.m. at Jayhawk Signs and Graphics, 701 N. Grand. Tim Dainty, chairman, will conduct the meeting.

Music/dance night
Music and dance night will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m.  at the Homer Cole Community Center.

Area musicians provide music for listening and dancing. There is a $1 admission fee, and finger foods are potluck. The center provides coffee and punch. Anyone needing additional information may call the center at 231-9773 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Chapter AQ, PEO
Chapter AQ, PEO, will meet at the home of Chantal Marji. Co-hostesses will be Samantha Rhodes, Kim Scripsick, Lori Fleming and Joanna Rhodes.

Barbara Rhodes and the entertainment committee will make plans for the chapter to celebrate the 97th birthday.

Chapter IO, PEO, will meet at 1 p.m. at Via Christi Village with Elizabeth Brill and Julianna Rieschick as hostesses.

Program will be book share and the president’s letter.

Chapter CP, PEO
Chapter CP, PEO, will have a dinner meeting at 6 p.m. at the home of Maeve Cummings with Joan Farrell and Pam Owings assisting.

Brandee Johnson will present the program on LEGO Education, and Maeve Cummings will report on IPS.

Chapter CJ, PEO
Chapter CJ, PEO, will meet at  6 p.m. with Marti York as hostess at 704 Ohio. Co-hostesses will be Susie Saylor and Pat Clement.

The program, “What Is NF?” will be presented by Betty Parr. Election and installation of officers will be held, along with election of a delegate to the state convention.

Scottish Rite
FORT SCOTT — Coffee and doughnuts will be served at 8 a.m. every Tuesday at the Scottish Rite Center, 110 S. Main, Fort Scott.

There will be no set agenda or predetermined topic, simply conversation among friends. Everyone is welcome to attend,  and need not be Scottish Rite members or Masons.  Men attending are welcome to bring their wives or friends.

ARMA TOPS
ARMA — The ARMA TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

Chapter meetings include private weigh-in, information on good nutrition, educational programs and moral support and encouragement to help members reach their weight loss goals.
