Pittsburg Farmers Market will be held from 7:30 a.m. to noon or until sold out at Second and Broadway.
Chrysanthemums, pumpkins, gourds, cornstalks, fall decorations and other fall treats and items are in. Also available will be fresh local vegetables, natural meat, farm eggs, local honey, sprouted wheat bread, gluten free, organic and regular baked goods, perennial plants, hand-crafted jewelry, pergolas, wood furniture and garden items, soap, soy candles, dip mixes, dry seasonings, postcards, stationery, journals, organic hand-knitted items and market bags and more.
The market will have a fall festival and hot soup extravaganza. Free activities for children will include pictures in the pumpkin patch, baby animals to pet, the Pittsburg Police Department with trick-or-treat safety and the DAR car, and making stepping stones. Community members may bring crock pots of hot soup to enter in the extravaganza. Hot soup entries should be at the market by 9 a.m. They will be judged by 11 a.m. and prizes will be awarded by 11:30 a.m. Soups will be offered to the public for donations to the market building fund. GIRARD — Girard Farmers Market will open at 7:30 a.m.
Featured will be turnips, lettuce, radishes, fancy Halloween treats, baked goods, fudge, jams, jellies, salsa, relishes and pickles.

Cherokee party
CHEROKEE — Cherokee American Legion will host a Halloween party, starting at 8 p.m.
There will be food and music. Costumes are optional, and prizes will be awarded.
