Mary L. McCoy, 68, of Pittsburg, formerly of Oswego and  Parsons,  died at 6:58 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Via Christi Medical Center in Pittsburg. 

Mary L. McCoy, 68, of Pittsburg, formerly of Oswego and  Parsons,  died at 6:58 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Via Christi Medical Center in Pittsburg.
 
She was born November 20, 1943 in Oswego, to Woodrow W. and Martha Elizabeth (Smith) Bryant.  She grew up in the rural Oswego area and graduated from Labette County Community High School in 1962.  

In 1969 she married Darrell McCoy, at Oswego and he preceded her in death.  She moved to Parsons in 2000 and recently had been living with her daughter in Pittsburg.

Mary was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Oswego and attended the First Baptist Church in Parsons.  She was a pink lady at the Labette Health Hospital and had worked part time at  Moore’s Liquor Store.  She enjoyed gardening and canning and helping her sisters.

Survivors: Daughter Kathryn Shackelford and her husband John, Pittsburg; Granddaughter Rebecca Shackelford, Pittsburg; Brother Richard Bryant and his wife Linda, Hallowell; Sisters Colleen Moore, Parsons, Judy Wayland her her husband Morgan, Welch, OK; Brother-in-law – Jim Maxton, Galena, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kevin McCoy, in 2009; her sister, Carol Maxton  and her brother-in-law, Roger Moore.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons.  Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday.
