Throughout history, patriotism has often been defined as an individual’s responsibility to fellow citizens.

Having provided comfort and aid to those in need since 1881, the American Red Cross started blood services operations as a war-relief effort to provide life-saving blood for soldiers during World War II.

The Red Cross has grown to become an industry leader — collecting and distributing nearly half the nation's blood supply.

This Spirit of America blood drive aims to pay homage to everyone who helps make America a compassionate country, to revive the patriotic spirit among Americans, to honor service men and women, and to increase the nation's blood supply.

Continued support for the Red Cross reflects our country’s patriotic spirit, and a commitment to the Red Cross means a commitment to hospital patients across our country.
