GIRARD — A Girard man was arrested Thursday evening on five different drug charges.

According to Girard Police Chief Jeff McDonald, Levi Short, 20, was arrested after the GPD and Southeast Kansas Drug Task Force executed a drug search warrant at 214 W. Orange in Girard.

According to Girard Police Chief Jeff McDonald, Levi Short, 20, was arrested after the GPD and Southeast Kansas Drug Task Force executed a drug search warrant at 214 W. Orange in Girard.

Law enforcement discovered approximately 45 marijuana plants along with drug paraphernalia and prescription drugs at the residence. Short was arrested on charges of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, felony drug paraphernalia possession, misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession, and possession of a controlled substance.

Short was arrested without incident and transported to the Crawford County Jail in Girard.
The incident remains under investigation by the Girard Police Department.

• Billy Nuzum, 22 of Fort Scott;
• Charles Trimble Jr., 30 of Fort Scott;
• Jaramie Winningham, 34 of Fort Scott;
• Bambi Lewis, 29 of Fort Scott;
• Jon More, 47 of Fort Scott;
• Lisa Hendrix, 46 of Fort Scott;
• Bryan Hendrix, 25 of Fort Scott;
• Michael Hendrix, 23 of Fort Scott.

According to Fort Scott Police Chief Ron Puterbaugh, the investigation is on-going and more arrests are expected.
